What complaints does an emergency dentist treat?
A dental emergency is when there are acute problems that require immediate treatment. A well-known selection of symptoms are:
- Trauma as a result of an accident, e.g. a tooth falling out or a broken tooth.
- Inflammation of the tooth nerve (root canal inflammation) with current pain
- Swollen cheek e.g. due to an abscess
Complaints that are NOT classified as a dental emergency:
- You have lost a filling
- Your crown is broken or you have lost the crown
- Fracture of a dental prosthesis
- Your denture does not fit properly or presses uncomfortably
If it is not a dental emergency, please make a regular appointment via our online appointment booking facility or by telephone.

How much does emergency dental treatment cost?
Pain treatment is free of charge for all insured patients.
In principle, emergency dental service treatment by the dentist is comparable to regular treatment by the family dentist. All statutory health insurers will pay for your emergency treatment. There are therefore no unexpected or higher costs for you. Please bring your insurance card with you.
